Bohlke-Schulte Seeks State Board of Education - Brings 27 years of Educational Experience Stephanie Bohlke-Schulte recently declared her candidacy for the State Board of Education.

Public School Principal - 10 years

Public School Counselor and Music Teacher - 15 years

Elected Member of Grand Island Board of Education - 8 years

Director of Education for NE State Patrol Academy - 2 years

Mrs. Bohlke-Schulte’s years of experience in educational leadership uniquely qualifies her for providing leadership for the public schools of Nebraska.  Mrs. Bohlke-Schulte brings twenty-seven years of significant experience as a classroom educator, a school counselor, a school principal, an adult educator, and serving on the Grand Island Board of Education.  “I desire to provide the highest quality public education possible throughout the state of which I have been a lifelong resident. My years of experience make me unusually qualified in the areas of educational accountability and testing; increasing high school graduation rates; research based educational decisions; and alignment of standards to goals, curriculum and testing at the state level.” Stephanie Bohlke-Schulte (62) is a lifelong registered Republican. She and her immediate family have been active in educational leadership for three generations. This retired educator has served in four school districts ranging from large urban and outstate districts to smaller rural localities. She has earned two Masters Degrees in the state of Nebraska. Born in Kenesaw, NE she and Gary have been married for 42 years having raised three sons who are now married. Five of their sons and daughters-in-laws have degrees in education.  Their family includes nine grandchildren.

The State Board Education is comprised of eight elected district representatives serving four year terms. Mrs. Bohlke-Schulte seeks to fill the position being vacated after one term by incumbent, Lillie Larsen. District 1 represents two thirds of Lancaster County.
