A Resolution by the Lancaster County Republican Party
in Memory of Elaine Usher

WHEREAS the Lancaster County Republican Party has prospered due to the dedication of committed volunteers

WHEREAS Elaine A. Usher was passionate about Republican politics her entire adult life beginning as a Goldwater girl and

WHEREAS Elaine served as a precinct worker, Treasurer, Precinct Education Chair, and National Committeewoman of the Nebraska Young Republicans and

WHEREAS Elaine volunteered as Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President of the Cornhusker Republican Women’s Club, and

WHEREAS Elaine was appointed and served from 1979 to 1983 as Lancaster County Election Commissioner,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lancaster County Republican Party recognizes the significant contributions of Elaine A. Usher to the cause of good government over her many years of dedicated service.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sincere condolences are offered to her daughters Cassandra, Christina, other family members and all who knew and loved her.

in Memory of Russell D. Brehm

WHEREAS the Lancaster County Republican Party has prospered due to the dedication of committed leaders

WHEREAS Russell D. Brehm served our nation in World War II and

WHEREAS Russell was very politically active in Lancaster County and Nebraska beginning with elected to the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners at the age of 24, serving 12 years and

WHEREAS Russell served nine years on the City-County Board of Health and

WHEREAS Russell was a two-time member of the Electoral College and

WHEREAS Russell served two terms as the Lancaster County Republican Party Chair and

WHEREAS Russell worked throughout his career to innovate and develop Lincoln and left a legacy to his beloved University of Nebraska,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lancaster County Republican Party recognizes the significant contributions of Russell D. Brehm to the cause of good government over his decades of dedicated service.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sincere condolences are offered to his daughters Mary Jo and Debby, other family members and all who knew and loved him.
